Completely agree.

Many of us were not happy with the marriage to the shotgun and zone-read. Just last week Cam had good early success under center and we completely abandoned it because Chud is Martz 2.0hhhhnoooooo!

There is an update to this.
http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2012/11/20/3679037/panthers-still-tweaking-running.html

2 things right off.

1. Cam either can't or doesn't make presnap reads. There is more to this than his ability though. How often do we see our offense barely get a play off? By memory, that happens a LOT, by time the play gets in and the offense is in place there are <8 seconds and the D is shifting to us and Cam doesn't have time to diagnose coverage/blitz and make any adjustment at all. All of last season and for about half of this season we would regularly see us barely get a play off (the plays where Cam is clapping for the ball because it takes us too long to get a play in and get set). Keep in mind, those "clapping for the ball" plays are just getting a normal play in and going with it... no flipping the wideouts, no route changes, no Manningish pre-snap "chicken dance", no "kill! kill! kill!" (you know, the stuff that any team over .500 does occasionally to frequently). This is so incredibly bad on many levels. It's a recipe for disaster with a young QB, shuffled Oline and inexperience @ WR 2/3/4 AND changing our run philosophy.... guys are staying after practice? Great. Is the OC learning how to get the next play in quickly without constant personnel changes? That is a resounding NO.

2. Telegraphing and poor execution are bad ingredients to a successful play. There are obviously very major telegraphs in our running game, especially with DeAngelo in the backfield. I've never seen a RB hit in the backfield as much as he is. It's a lack of variance in down/distance/formation that the "badguys" know the play before the ball is snapped every week. It's not an issue with him when a LB is draped around his legs before he hits the "hole" (a hole that doesn't exist). His single wing/wildcat carries straight up the middle have a high success rate... everything else, not so much. Our Oline shuffling is making this issue even worse though. On a given play when they're 8 in the box and 7 guys block correctly and 1 guy blows his assignment (hello entire right side of the oline, looking at you guys!) a hard run with a small margin for success turns into a tackle for loss.

Chud and Rivera should have diagnosed and corrected this. The more complicated you make things with so many changing parts the more difficult you make things. The really bad part is, that is exactly what they did last season and they've lost the way.
